The series features five distinct interior exhibitions set on the existing site of Isola Madonna del Monte. The concept explores the poignant reality of Venice's gradual sinking, embodying the emotions of the island as it faces its inevitable decline.
Each exhibit represents a stage of grief, allowing visitors to journey through the evolving emotions of the dying island. The spaces are designed to transition seamlessly from one to the next, providing an immersive experience of fluctuating feelings.




stage 1: denial
The individual experiences confusion and feels overwhelmed when confronted with death.



stage 2: anger
The individual starts grappling with the truth and becomes frustrated with the situation. They experience irritation and emotional pain.

stage 3: bargain
The individual becomes desperate and attempts to negotiate with a higher power. In their quest for meaning when confronted with Death, they remain hopeful.



stage 4: depression
The individual comes to realize that their attempts were futile and that Death is inevitable. They withdraw from life, embarking on a dark and lonely path.


stage 5: acceptance
The individual learns that, although Death is inevitable, it is a natural part of life. They begin to accept and coexist with it.
