site

Built in 1899 as a tin lithography factory, 401 Richmond has since evolved into a vibrant cultural hub. The heritage building preserves Toronto's industrial heritage through its original brick façade and steel-framed windows.

client

Founded in 1973, this non-profit organization is dedicated to preserving the archival history of the LGBTQ2+ community in Canada.

concept

The ArQuives' interpretation of the rainbow symbolizes their distinct identity within the LGBTQ2+ community.

Using color psychology, each color of the rainbow is allocated to specific rooms according to their intended functions and the emotions they elicit. Darker hues may evoke playfulness or tranquility, while vibrant, saturated tones encourage conversation and collaboration.
